Why is my pedometer not calculating my steps correctly?

Pedometers may not count steps correctly when: 

• Unit moves irregularly. For instance, if loosely placed in a bag while on a bike, bus or car. 
• Movement includes sitting and standing, playing sports, or walking on a steep surface.

You can test your pedometer to see if it's working properly by walking at a steady pace on a flat surface.
