How do I turn on step tracking for Android mobile phones using S Health or Google Fit?

Most mobile phones are able to track your steps automatically, but there are some minimum requirements for this feature to work with the Omada app.

Please note that if you have multiple Android devices connected to your account, automatic step tracking may not remain checked on your main device and lead to inaccurate steps data.

Requirements:

• Samsung phones are capable of tracking a user's steps through the S Health app with OS Android 5.0 Kit Kat or higher. 
• Non-Samsung phones are capable of tracking a user's steps through the Google Fit app. Google Fit can be downloaded for free from the Play Store.

How to turn on automatic step tracking using S Health or Google Fit

1. Once you have logged into your Omada mobile app, tap the the photo icon in the upper right corner of your screen on the Home page.

2. Tap on the Settings gear icon.

3. Navigate to the Health Tracking section and tap Apps & Devices.

4. If you would like to connect to your S Health app, select Samsung Health.
   1. Tap Connect to Samsung Health.

   2. You may either allow All permissions or scroll down to enable Daily step count trend and tap Done once finished selecting.

   3. You should now see a checkmark next to Samsung Health within the Omada app. This indicates your steps data has been connected.

   4. If you would like to disconnect, please click the checkmark next to Samsung Health and tap Yes when the prompt to Disconnect syncing with Samsung Health? appears.
5. If you would like to connect your Google Fit app, select Google Fit.
   1. Tap Connect to Google Fit.

   2. You may either allow All permissions or enable Steps Tracking and tap Sign in with Google once finished selecting.

   3. A prompt should appear to Choose an account, tap your preferred email address.

   4. You should now see a checkmark next to Google Fit within the Omada app. This indicates your steps data has been connected.

   5. If you would like to disconnect, please click the checkmark next to Google Fit and tap Yes when the prompt to Disconnect syncing with Google Fit? appears.
